The head of National Water Research Center(NWRC) highlights the strategic collaboration with ICARDA for sustainable agriculture #5
In an important step towards promoting sustainable agricultural development, the National Water Research Center (NWRC), represented by its president, Professor Dr. Sherif Mohammadi El-Sayed, stressed the importance of continuing cooperation with the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA).
The discussions highlighted that joint efforts between the two institutions are essential to improving water use efficiency, increasing agricultural productivity, and enhancing resilience to climate change in Egypt and the region.



The consultative workshop, organized by the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), focused on promoting sustainable agricultural water management in Egypt.
Experts, policymakers, and researchers from various national and international institutions participated in the workshop, where they exchanged experiences on:
- Integrating research-based water management strategies into national policies.
- Encouraging innovation in irrigation technology.
- Strengthening the ability of farmers and local institutions to cope with water scarcity.
